Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Rise Me App collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Rise Me App website and apps at risemeapp.com.

01 Who is responsible for your data

Rise Me App is operated by Upwizer, a sole-trader business established in North Macedonia — the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, contact us at [email protected].

02 What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the Service:

  • Account data — when you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address, name, profile picture, and a unique identifier from that provider, together with the provider you used.
  • Onboarding quiz answers — the responses you give in the in-app quiz, which may include details such as the gender you identify as, your age range, your goals, and self-assessments about your communication and confidence. You can choose "Prefer not to say" where offered, and providing this information is optional.
  • Usage and learning data — your progress through lessons, lesson ratings you submit, time spent studying, daily streaks, and similar activity within the Service.
  • Subscription status — whether you have an active subscription, so we can unlock paid content. We do not receive or store your card or payment details (see "Payments" below).
  • Technical data — basic information needed to operate and secure the Service, such as log data and an authentication token stored on your device to keep you signed in.

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics tracking pixels in the Service.

03 How and why we use your data

  • To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
  • To provide the Service, save your progress, and personalise your learning path based on your quiz answers.
  • To process and unlock subscriptions and purchases.
  • To send you service messages and, unless you opt out, occasional marketing emails about Rise Me App.
  • To maintain the security, integrity, and proper functioning of the Service.

04 Legal bases

Where data-protection law (including the GDPR) applies to you, we rely on:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you sign up for.
  • Consent — for the optional onboarding quiz answers, which you can decline, and which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Legitimate interests — to secure the Service and to send marketing about our own similar products, balanced against your rights and subject to your right to opt out.
  • Legal obligation — where we must keep records, for example for tax or accounting.

05 Payments

Purchases are handled by the payment provider for your platform: Lemon Squeezy (Merchant of Record) for web purchases, Google Play on Android, and the Apple App Store on iOS. That provider collects and processes your payment and billing information directly — we never receive or store your card details, only confirmation that a purchase was made so we can activate your subscription. Each provider's handling of your data is governed by its own privacy policy (e.g. Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy).

06 Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers ("processors") we rely on to run Rise Me App, and only as needed for them to perform their service:

ProviderPurpose
Google & AppleSign-in / authentication; in-app purchases on Android (Google Play) and iOS (App Store)
Lemon SqueezyPayments, billing, and tax for web purchases (Merchant of Record)
ResendSending account and marketing emails
Google (Gemini)Generating lesson audio narration from our lesson text
CloudflareServing the web app and storing audio and images
Our hosting provider (EU)Running our server and database on EU-based infrastructure

We may also disclose data where required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the security of the Service.

07 International transfers

Our own server and database run on EU-based infrastructure. Some of the providers listed above may, however, process data outside North Macedonia and the EU/EEA, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on the providers' appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect your data.

08 How long we keep it

We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete this data, except where we must keep limited records to meet legal obligations (for example, purchase records for tax purposes). Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.

09 Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and you can object to or restrict certain processing. You can:

  • Delete your account and data from within the app, or by emailing us.
  • Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by emailing us.
  • Exercise any other right by contacting [email protected].

We will respond within the time required by law. If you are in the EU/EEA or North Macedonia and believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority (in North Macedonia, the Agency for Personal Data Protection).

10 Children

Rise Me App is intended for users aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11 Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Sign-in tokens are issued and verified using signed JSON Web Tokens, payment webhooks are signature-verified, and access to admin functions is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit what we collect.

12 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to inform you.
